In light of the rapidly evolving coronavirus situation in the UK we have had to make the difficult decision to close the practice to all but emergency patients. COVID-19 can be a very serious and deadly disease and therefore we must all work together to protect ourselves and each other.

Last week bought a rollercoaster of emotions as the situation evolved so rapidly and even on Friday 20th March we thought we would continue to see people for check ups. However, over the weekend all of our dentists continued to research the latest advice and monitor the situation and felt it was not safe for us to continue with any routine treatments. This was backed up by advice from the British Dental Associate on Sunday. It is a difficult time as dentistry is a huge part of our lives and looking after our patients is what we do. Whilst we feel we are letting you down, but it would be very difficult to live with the consequences if anything were to happen to a patient or colleague after a routine visit that could be postponed.

We are still here for you though! We are continuing to see patient for dental emeregncies and we are also available for any queries you would like to speak to us about. A dentist is available every day and we will speak to you over the phone and assess if you need to come in for urgent treatment.  At this time it is impossible to know when we will be able to return to normal service but we will do this as soon as it is deemed safe to do so. We will have a small team in the practice each day as of 23rd March but we will be making use of our other team members to reach out to our patients and the wider community to offer help to those self isolating. If you need any help then please do get in touch, we can help with food shopping, collecting prescriptions and running errands

We are so grateful for all the kind words of support from our lovely patients. It will be a challenging time for a small business like ours but we have a fabulous team that care greatly for each other and we will look after one another. We appreciate that you will also be concerned for our staff members and we want to reassure you that we are fully supporting them financially during this time.

If you are attending an appointment we want to reassure you that we are constantly maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our practice. Some of the measures we have for your protection and peace of mind are:

  • Hand sanitizing gel available on entry to the building and in each waiting room.
  • Disinfection of all door handles, iPads etc disinfected between each patient.
  • Limited and spaced out appointments to allow social distancing.

We continue to keep up to date with the guidance set out by the Department of Health and Social Care found on the government website.

If you have an appointment scheduled please contact us as soon as possible if you have any of the following

  • a raised temperature or a persistent cough (lasting more than a few hours)
  • have traveled to any of the high-risk countries in the last 14 days
  • have been in contact with a known coronavirus carrier
  • have a complex medical history
